Sunrocket is out of business. No worries, this development has led us to find a great solution that will allow you to make and receive free calls using your old Sunrocket gizmo. Gizmo project is like skype, but better. It will let you set up your gizmo to receive and make calls. Grandcentral will give you a local number that will forward to your gizmo project account. You can also you Grandcentral's click2call feature. This will allow you to hit a button on their website and call you and whoever you want to call, thus allowing you to make calls for free. You can also make international calls for Gizmo Project's low rate. The voip quality is great and you don't have to sign a long contract!
0) Sign up for a Gizmo Project account. You will also need to go to inviteshare to get an invite for Grand Central
1a) Unlock your Sunrocket gizmo:
Nuvio has instructions on how to unlock your voip gizmo. This website has another way to do it. In order to access mine I first had to use a paperclip to hit the reset button on the back of the gizmo.
1b) If you don't have a gizmo, no problem!. You can either by a Linksys PAP2, a similiar voip adapter, a USB phone, or you can use the gizmo softphone (a program that runs on your computer) to make free voip calls. You could get a old Sunrocket gizmo on ebay, just make sure you can unlock it.
2) Setup your device to work with Gizmo Project
Disable Provisioning. Go to IP Network-> Provisioning Setting. Uncheck the Enable Provisioning box.

Setup your SIP Proxy. Go to VOIP->SIP Proxy. Use these settings:

proxy01.sipphone.com got cut off on this.
Change your User Account. Go to VOIP->User Account. Your user ID is your Gizmo Project SIP number with the one before it. Your password is your gizmo project password.

Test Setup Setup your gizmo so that it is directly connected to the internet. The order should be modem - gizmo - router.
Reboot gizmo - Unplug the power on your gizmo and plug it back in. When the gizmo is ready, click on Information - Register Status & Critical Messages. Line one should have a green box that says Registered below it. You should be setup to make calls!

3) Setup Grand central to forward calls to your gizmo project account. Please note that if you have your Gizmo project program running you may have trouble receiving calls.

Optional:
If you want to put your gizmo after your router, you will need to forward UDP ports 5004, 5005, and 64064 to your voip gizmo. Please consult your router's manual for how to do this. You may also want to set up Quality of Service so that your voip gets max bandwidth.
What is GrandCentral?
GrandCentral will give you "one number for life". Here are some features:
Forward your calls to your cell phone, work phone, home phone, gizmo project number, etc.
Pick which phone you receive calls from certain contacts.
Click2call allows you to click on your contacts and connect you for free. This allows you to make free calls to anyone in the USA!
RingShare lets you change the ring tone your contacts hear when they call you.
Screen callers
Finally, Grandcentral will store all your voicemails and make them accessible on their website. I have been using this service for a few weeks and really like it. Google recently purchased GrandCentral. If you frequently switch jobs, voip providers, move alot, or just want free calls, this is for you!
